School Mindfulness Lead Training Pathway

What does the School Mindfulness Lead Training Pathway involve?

1.     Train to Teach .b and/or Paws b to pupils.

This involves:

  • Teach .b (link to Teach .b info) is a 4- day non-residential training in to deliver a 10- week mindfulness program for 11-18 year-olds
  • Teach Paws b (link to Teach Paws b info) is a 3- day non-residential training in a 6/12 week mindfulness curriculum for 7-11 year-olds

2.     Deliver 2 or more mindfulness courses to pupils with ongoing support from MiSP.

This includes:

  • Ongoing Direct access to support from the MiSP Training and Support Teams
  • Comprehensive materials and teachers notes for the entire curriculum
  • Membership to teacher networks and online forums
  • Access to online measurement and presentation of impact data of .b and/or Paws b for pupils

3.     Complete a 6- day residential training to become a School Mindfulness Lead.

This includes:

  • Teach .b Foundations – , a schools- based adult mindfulness curriculum – , to staff, parents and other adults in your school community
  • Learn how to develop long term systems of support for pupils and adults practicing mindfulness in your school community.
  • Learn how to build and lead on a sustainable approach to mindfulness within your school

4.     Deliver 2 or more mindfulness courses to adults in your school community with ongoing support from MiSP.

This includes:

  • Ongoing support from MiSP Training and Support teams
  • Comprehensive materials and teachers notes for delivery of the .b Foundations course.
  • Dedicated School Mindfulness Lead Forums and teacher network including forums and events to connect mindfulness leads from different schools for peer support.

Please note:  Teachers must also commit to adherence to the good practice guidelines for mindfulness teaching.

5.     Further CPD.

This includes:

  • Day events to further develop ability to teach mindfulness to adults
  • Day events on building a sustainable model in schools
