6. General

7.1 MiSP has the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. These terms and conditions are available on MiSP’s website.

7. Medical Acknowledgment

MiSP’s One Day Retreat is intended as an opportunity to deepen your mindfulness practice, take some time to pause, reflect and nourish yourself, and connect and share learning and ideas with a community of mindfulness practitioners.

Like most retreats, the day will include extended periods of guided and non-guided mindfulness practices. As with any mindfulness courses or retreat, it may not be for everyone. In particular, if you have recently experienced trauma or bereavement, or severe physical or mental illness, you should consult with your GP or other medical adviser before undertaking this, or any form of mindfulness training or practice.

For more information, please read the following article by Ruth Baer and Willem Kuyken.

If you wish to discuss any concerns you might have about the MiSP One Day Retreat in this respect, please contact enquiries@mindfulnessinschools.org

Please confirm that you understand that this course is not a substitute for any medical treatment you might need.

I have read the information above and confirm I understand that this course is not a substitute for any medical treatment I might need. I agree that if I have, or have recently had, symptoms of physical or mental ill-health, it is my responsibility to consult with my doctor and/or other healthcare professionals and follow their advice.

8. Online Commitments

As an online Retreat, it is crucial that you ensure that you attend this session…

  1. In a quiet space where you will not be interrupted, and not sharing a laptop or being in the same room as someone else attending the session (this is to avoid audio feedback issues).
  2. Having checked all technology is working to a quality that allows for full engagement with the taught retreat. It is the individual’s responsibility to ensure that the technical requirements are working in advance of this retreat.
  3. Please note that you are required to have your camera switched on, unless advised otherwise during the sessions.
  4. Using a PC/laptop/Mac with reasonable broadband and a webcam. This session will take place on Zoom. If you have reasonable broadband then it should work, but an exact list of the technical requirements for Zoom can be found on their website if you want to check. You cannot join the retreat using a mobile device or tablet as these may have limited functionality when using Zoom.
  5. Take part in the session as you would if the session was happening with everyone in the same room. This means stepping away from distractions (technology, work commitments etc.), and fully committing to engaging in this Retreat.

N.B. The MiSP One Day Retreat is not suitable for those attending from their workplace. Stepping back from work and other commitments is a crucial aspect of a mindfulness retreat day, allowing you to fully engage with your practice, personal and professional development.
