The School Mindfulness Lead course prepares experienced .b / Paws b / dots teachers in schools to lead colleagues in the .b Foundations introductory session and 8-session curriculum, but also to become a ‘mindfulness lead’ within the school or educational group in which they are employed. For more information about this course click here.
This training will enable you to deliver the .b Foundations course to staff within the safeguarded environment of your school or group of schools. The course does not equip teachers to become external providers of mindfulness training to organisations other than the school(s) in which they are employed or with which they have an ongoing relationship. For example, a teacher or leader working within a group or consortium of schools or academy chain, with which they have regular contact and with whom they would have ongoing input would meet these criteria. The training does not equip you with the skills to teach mindfulness to adults generally but is a specialist training developed for teachers within schools. Please note: This course does not train you to teach others to deliver the .b, Paws b or dots curriculum.
If you are already a qualified adult mindfulness teacher then this course is not appropriate for you. Please do take a look at our 3-day Teach .b Foundations instead.
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY
This is a retreat-like residential course. If you have no previous experience of a retreat, please read the following carefully:
- Days are long, and provide teacher training but also opportunities to deepen your own personal practice through extended periods of mindfulness meditation. The first practice session each day is before breakfast (7:30am), and the last is after dinner (7pm).
- As with other retreats, and to enable you to be refreshed and ready for long days of practice, we would encourage you to keep the venue an alcohol and smoking-free environment. Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the School or on its grounds.
- Residential facilities are simple. You will be allocated a single room in a boarding house at Tonbridge School, and will share a bathroom with other participants.
- There are extensive grounds surrounding the School which you will be welcome to use, as well as a School pool and gym facilities for which you can purchase a Guest Pass for when you arrive.
The fee includes accommodation, all meals and refreshments. The venue are happy to accommodate most dietary requirements, but please ensure you provide full details of your needs and any allergies on the application form.
Please note, all times stated below are UK time zone.

If we are able to offer catch-up sessions we may require an additional fee to be paid to MiSP for the trainer’s time.
